Lotterywest, Western Australia’s lotteries board, has recruited Caroline Niewiarowski-Fish, a former government service delivery director, as its new chief information officer.
As Lotterywest and its new CIO, Niewiarowski-Fish, will be in charge of delivering and managing the organization’s technical requirements and creating digital lottery game solutions for the state’s players.
According to a Lotterywest spokeswoman, prior CIO Christian Rasmussen resigned in February of this year to become CIO of the state health department. Niewiarowski, Ms. -“Fish enjoys technology, but he is also enthusiastic about using technology to enhance human interactions, and he aims to pursue excellence in the team and take advantage of the opportunities available,” a spokesman said in a statement. Niewiarowski-Fish, who began her new job in September, described her new position as “an chance to figure out what is going to be best for Lotterywest and finding the balance between someone being cutting edge.”
Lotterywest welcomed Niewiarowski-Fish via LinkedIn, which highlighted her vast 17-year IT background. Niewiarowski-Fish comes to Lotterywest from the Western Australian government, where she spent two and a half years overseeing IT projects as the Department of Finance’s service delivery director. According to a spokesman for the Western Australian Department of Finance, an “interim internal appointment” has been made while a search for a replacement for Niewiarowski-Fish is ongoing before something like this, she worked for the WA Agency of Training and Workforce Development for six years as the business systems assistant director, totaling more than eight years with the agency.
