Apple released two new chips called M1 Pro and M1 Max. The company says they are faster and bigger than the previous M1 chips.
M1 Max Chip comes with 57 billion transistors which makes it the most powerful chip ever built. Apple has cut its production of the iPhone 13 amid the global computer chip shortage.
The new chips follow the announcement of the first Mac computers powered by silicon of its design almost a year ago.
New Chips
Mikako Kitagawa of Gartner, an industry analyst says, ‘’ the performance boost is pretty impressive.’’
Moreover, the company says the new chip will help improve video processing in its computers. Also, it will extend their battery life.
‘’ The Mac is now one year into its two-year transition to Apple silicon, and M1 Pro and M1 Max represent another huge step forward, the company said as it continues to move away from the Macs that ran on Intel Corp Chips. ‘’
The California-based company had also launched its new line of iPhones recently, and now added more products for the holiday season.
The new chips are compared with the 8-Core PC chips, and the company claimed it would be 1.7 times faster than 8- core PC laptop Chip running at the top speed while using 70% of the power.
However, independent sources have not yet verified the claims of the company.
Ben Wood, Chief Analyst of CCS Insight says, ‘’ for years Apple has used chips designed by Intel. The move to designing its silicon has been positive for the firm.’’
‘’ The advent of Apple silicon has been a shot in the arm for the MacBook line up.’’
New MacBooks
Apple announce the new MacBook Pros fitted with its latest chips. The new laptops come with a new design and replace the touch bar with physical keys.
According to analysts, Apple is defending its creative professional market with its core marketing strategies. The workers in creative industries are starting to float away from the MacBook pro.
The new 14-inch model will deliver up to 17 hours of video playback, while the 16-inch model will play video for up to 21 hours.
The price of the 14-inch MacBook Pro model will start at $1,999 and the base for the 16-inch MacBook Pro model will start at $2,499. The top-end-inch MacBook Pro will cost $6,099.
