Paul Bunker Retires; State Revenue Victoria Hunt For New CIO

The State Revenue Office Victoria is looking for a new chief information officer as Paul Bunker announced retirement. According to sources, Paul Bunker said that he is leaving the Victorian Government’s revenue management agency for a ‘’sea change.’’ 

Paul Bunker has joined the State revenue office Victoria in 2017. Since then he has been working as director and CIO of business technology services for over five years. 

Several years of planning and considerable thought

Moreover, talking about his experience, Bunker  said, “After several years of planning and considerable thought it is time to take the next step and make the long-thought-about sea change,” “My last working day with SRO will be October 28, and in early November I will relocate to NSW.”

Adding to his statement he mentioned that he had a great time working with an enormously talented management team. He further added he is “not sure what is next”, however, noted he has a “new surfboard on order” and “the water will be just that little bit warmer than in Victoria.”

He wrote, “The process to find a replacement has commenced and hopefully, my successor will enjoy the role as much as I have,” 

New CIO will lead and manage its ICT

Bunker had previous experience as a consultant before joining SRO. He was a senior consultant for the digital consulting firm Digital Frontier Partners. He also worked at Melbourne Airport as an executive for business systems and information communication technology. Additionally, he has worked for the Victoria State Emergency Service, Vision Australia, the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority.

The State Revenue office’s new CIO will lead and manage its ICT strategy. Also, reporting to executive director of business technology services Cameron Aughterson is part of the job. Soon, SRO will introduce the new CIO.
