Wearn was appointed CIO of the Perth Mint in July, following a tenure as business technology group manager in 2020. Driving an organization-wide change initiative was one of his tasks.

For the change, the Mint, which also serves as the federal government’s official gold and silver bullion coin manufacturer, has invested in Microsoft-based technologies. According to the Mint’s most recent annual report, it is likewise undergoing a cyber security transformation to secure information, data, and technological assets.
