After five months, the CIO of the Perth Mint, Wearn resigns.

Brad Wearn, the Perth Mint’s chief information officer, was let go less than six months after assuming the newly established position.

A representative for the WA government-owned business acknowledged his departure but declined to disclose more details. LinkedIn demonstrates In October, Wearn accepted a new director position at his firm, BJM Performance.

Wearn was appointed CIO of the Perth Mint in July, following a tenure as business technology group manager in 2020. Driving an organization-wide change initiative was one of his tasks.

The ‘business technology solutions’ team is required to move its focus and thinking from conventional in-house applications and infrastructure to the building of ‘platforms’ as part of the transition. For the change, the Mint, which also serves as the federal government’s official gold and silver bullion coin manufacturer, has invested in Microsoft-based technologies. According to the Mint’s most recent annual report, it is likewise undergoing a cyber security transformation to secure information, data, and technological assets.
