Commonwealth Bank of Australia launches Perth tech hub

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has opened a new technology hub in Perth, making it their fourth hub in the country. The hub will be a space for data scientists, cybersecurity experts, and software engineers.

CBA already has hubs in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane. With this new hub in Perth, CBA aims to attract tech talent from outside of Sydney, where its headquarters are located. They will partner with local universities, like The University of Western Australia and Curtin University, to provide career opportunities for IT professionals.

The Perth Tech Hub is part of CBA’s commitment to investing over $1 billion annually in technology and building a strong engineering capability. The bank believes that by working with universities, they can improve technology skills, foster talent, and drive innovation.

Bankwest, a subsidiary of CBA and a major technology employer in Western Australia, will host the new Tech Hub, benefiting customers, employees, and the community.
