UniSuper improves HR operations

Five HR systems have been combined into one platform by UniSuper, which has reduced monthly reporting and raised employee engagement.

About six months ago, the superannuation fund implemented the system in an effort to streamline its human resources division.

The organisation needed greater career support for its 900+ employees if it was to increase efficiency, reduce manual processes, and address a skills shortage.

Since deploying the Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) system, its HR “goals” platform has experienced an increase in employee engagement of 98 percent.

According to Julie Watkins, chief people officer at UniSuper, the company “could no longer operate five distinct HR platforms or continue investing in more manpower to complete manual operations” as the industry “become more commercial and competitive.”

“We wanted a solution that could combine all of our applications into one, cut down on emails, do away with manual spreadsheets, and most importantly, give employees and business executives more time to concentrate on other things while also providing information and trends about our people.”

The organisation will be able to concentrate on increasing customer membership while simultaneously focusing on employee retention thanks to the predicted efficiencies from the new platform.

“It’s simple to listen to a few voices within an organisation and then react,” said Watkins. However, this approach does not give a comprehensive picture of what is going on in the organisation.
