Tell us a little more about your journey as an entrepreneur – how did you get started? What inspired you?
Anthony: My journey as an entrepreneur began during my time at a digital marketing agency, where I first discovered the transformative power of automation. What started as a way to streamline the agency’s daily operations quickly became a passion for creating efficient systems. Recognizing the value of these solutions, I began helping clients manage inquiries and leads more effectively through automation.
This newfound passion ignited a desire to focus solely on providing these solutions, and so I made the bold decision to leave the security of that job. With no plan and no clients, I launched Basic Solutions from scratch. I just wanted to help businesses thrive through the power of automation. 3 years later, I’m proud to say Basic Solutions is thriving and has helped dozens of SMEs win back their time to focus on the areas of business that are most important to them.
What entrepreneurial tricks have you discovered to keep you focused and productive?
Anthony: A key entrepreneurial trick I’ve discovered to stay focused and productive is leveraging automation and implementing robust systems. Automating time-consuming tasks frees up significant time and mental energy, enabling me to concentrate on strategic growth and client relationships. Strong systems help prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and maintain consistency, which is crucial for staying on top of my schedule and keeping productivity high, even during busy times.
How do you stay organized with such a busy schedule?
Anthony: Staying organized with a busy schedule involves effective time management, solid systems, and the right tools. Automation is a game-changer for me, as it frees up valuable time by handling repetitive tasks, allowing me to focus on high-priority activities that drive growth. I rely on tools like Trello, Asana, and CRM systems to streamline task management and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Additionally, well-defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) create consistency across operations, making it easier to delegate tasks and maintain quality as the business scales. I also use time-blocking techniques and structure my day around my natural productivity peaks, which I identify by understanding my chronotype. Finally, having a capable team with clear roles and responsibilities allows me to delegate effectively, ensuring the business runs smoothly even during peak periods.
If you had a magic stick, what are 3 things you would change in the world?
Anthony: If I had a magic stick, the three things I would change in the world would be:
- Universal Access to Quality Education: I would ensure that everyone, regardless of where they are born or their circumstances, has access to quality education. Education is the foundation for opportunity, empowerment, and positive change. By providing equal access, we can break the cycle of poverty, promote innovation, and foster a more informed and compassionate world.
- Sustainable Solutions for Climate Change: I would accelerate the global shift toward sustainable energy and environmental practices. Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, and by ensuring that all countries adopt renewable energy, protect natural resources, and reduce waste, we can preserve our planet for future generations while promoting economic growth and stability.
- Global Equity and Fairness: I would work to eliminate extreme poverty, inequality, and discrimination. By creating a more equitable world where everyone has access to basic needs, equal rights, and opportunities, we can foster a society where people can live with dignity, respect, and the ability to achieve their potential regardless of their background.
These changes would help build a world that is more just, sustainable, and prosperous for all.
If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it?
Anthony: I would name it “The Balanced Hustle: Building Success Without Sacrificating What Matters.”
What motivates you?
Anthony: What motivates me is the pursuit of a balanced life where I can enjoy the best of both worlds—success in my career and quality time for the things I love. I’m driven by the desire to create a life that not only allows me to afford the things I want but also gives me the time to truly enjoy them. For me, it’s not just about working hard; it’s about working smart. Automation and effective systems play a huge role in this. They help me streamline my work, freeing up time to spend with family, pursue hobbies, and recharge. Ultimately, my motivation comes from building a life where professional achievement and personal fulfilment go hand in hand, allowing me to live fully and on my own terms.
What is one of the best or most worthwhile investments you’ve ever made?
Anthony: One of the best and most worthwhile investments I’ve ever made was starting my own business. Looking back, the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that there’s never a “perfect” time to start—sometimes, you just have to take the leap. I didn’t have everything figured out when I began, but I knew that waiting for the right moment would only hold me back. By just getting started, I was able to turn my passion for automation into a thriving business, and that initial investment in myself has paid off in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

Anthony: I would highly recommend entrepreneurs invest their time in networking with other business owners and learning from those who have already walked the path. Building connections with experienced entrepreneurs can provide invaluable insights, guidance, and inspiration. By surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals who have faced similar challenges, you can learn from their successes and mistakes, which can save you time and help you avoid common pitfalls.
