The CIO of Toyota Australia is leaving the company

Australia

After eight years in the position, Toyota Australia’s chief information officer, Ellis Brover, has stepped down, and Wayne Gabriel has taken his place.

Brover, who worked for the Japanese automaker’s Australian division for a total of 20 years, announced his retirement on LinkedIn.

“It’s time for me to hand over the reins, spend some time with my family, and start planning the next chapter of my life and career,” Brover said, adding that he had “the enormous privilege of leading a fantastic team through a period of immense change and growth” and “built a high-performing and cohesive IT group that has driven Toyota’s digital business transformation.”

Gabriel was named general manager of the information systems division “to establish its future digital operations and explore potential for synergy and alignment throughout One Toyota,” according to a Toyota Australia representative.

“He will manage this new role alongside his previous responsibilities as general manager of digital guest services,” says Gabriel, who has worked with Toyota Australia for roughly 25 years.

Matthew Callachor, president and CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation Australia, praised Brover for his long service.

Dmitri Colebatch, senior manager for products and new business, highlighted a series of initiatives that Brover had directed or been a part of on LinkedIn.

Transitioning IT’s function after production ceased, leading Toyota through a severe cyber assault, and modernising “everything from SAP, warehouse management, factory management, Office 365 migration, and many many more” were among them.
