AWS (Amazon Web Services) will invest 4.5 billion dollars in Australia

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is investing $4.5 billion in Australia by 2037 and has launched its second AWS infrastructure Region in Australia, the AWS Asia Pacific Melbourne Region.

The new region is expected to provide more than 2,500 full-time positions a year and will provide customers with the ability to store data securely in Australia with lower latency.

The launch of the AWS Asia Pacific Melbourne Region will allow customers to have access to advanced AWS technologies, including computing, storage, networking, business applications, developer tools, data analytics, security, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

The AWS Partner Network (APN) includes independent software vendors (ISVs) and systems integrators (SIs) that build solutions and services on AWS and provide support to customers. Examples of Australian-based AWS partners include Cevo, CMD Solutions, DiUS, IntelligenceBank, and Versent. The AWS Asia Pacific Melbourne Region is made up of three Availability Zones and is located near the existing AWS Asia Pacific Sydney Region. Each Availability Zone has independent power, cooling, and physical security, and customers have access to advanced AWS technologies to drive innovation.
