AMP has named Kavita Mistry as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) following the impending departure of its first-ever group CTO, Felicia Trewin, who is set to lead data and technology functions for private health insurer Medibank early next year. AMP initiated the search for Trewin’s replacement in October and announced Mistry’s appointment after a thorough internal selection process.
Kavita Mistry initially joined AMP in January 2023, overseeing technology across the wealth business, as well as digital and enterprise platforms. AMP highlighted Mistry’s robust technology leadership experience in financial services and her proficiency in building partnerships and leading high-performing teams.
Before her tenure at AMP, Mistry held roles at AustralianSuper, including co-acting CTO and Head of Enterprise Technology. She also has an extensive background at ANZ Banking Group, with nearly 15 years in various senior technology leadership positions.
AMP CEO Alexis George expressed delight at Mistry’s appointment, praising her leadership and technology transformation capabilities. George emphasized Mistry’s suitability to guide the team through the next phase of transformation as part of the executive committee.
George extended gratitude to Felicia Trewin for her focus on creating a unified technology team and shaping the technology function, wishing her success in her new role at Medibank and thanking her for her contributions in talent development and technology reshaping.
