Patrick Collins has been appointed as Airtasker and its first chief product officer.
Collins joined the Airtasker team after serving as chief product and technology officer at the purchase now, pay later startup Zip Co. for two years.
Collins will be in charge of Airtasker and its product strategy as the firm looks to expand into overseas markets.
Collins will report to Airtasker co-founder and CEO Tim Fung and will drive product management and design and aid the customer operations teams in scaling worldwide, notably in the United States and the United Kingdom.
“As a part of Airtasker and its senior leadership team, Patrick will ensure that all product teams understand and are aligned with the overarching vision, as well as that their work is optimized.” “Fung stated. “I’ve been personally directing our product roadmap, but I’m thrilled to be working with Patrick to take it to the next level.”
Airtasker, according to Fung, “launched an exhaustive search for this post,” looking for somebody with “previous international expertise, an entrepreneurial perspective, and who had a strong cultural add.”
“Patrick tends to bring to Airtasker more than two decades of product leadership experience gained at leading Silicon Valley and Australian technology companies such as 5th Finger and Zip Co, so we’re very excited to bring him on board as we scale internationally and continue to invest in a world class customer experience,” Fung said. Collins has started many digital firms in the United States and directed various technological teams during his career. Collins created mobile solutions startup 5th Finger in San Francisco before buying it from customer service management firm Merkle in 2012. Collins then worked at Merkle for about two and a half years as senior vice president of customer experience products. “Earlier in his career, Collins was regarded as a founding technical member of Fairfax Digital,” Fung noted. Zip Co is now in the process of hiring a new chief product and technology officer, with the hope that a candidate will be found before Christmas.
