The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has announced the creation of a new Chief Data Officer role, reporting to the Executive Director of Technology and Data, Bruce Young.
This follows the recent launch of APRA’s new Technology and Data division, which combines its enterprise services technology team and the core data capabilities teams from its data analytics and insights division.
The new Chief Data Officer will set the strategic direction and business plan for the data branch, develop data policies and procedures, and work with various departments to collect, prepare, organize, protect, and analyze data assets.
APRA’s latest annual report highlights the launch of APRA Connect, a new data collection platform, and the release of its ‘Direction for Data Collections’ strategic roadmap, which aims to deliver deeper, richer data to APRA and its stakeholders across all industry sectors.
