Regional Australia Bank dropped a CDO

Rob Hale, Regional Australia Bank’s chief digital officer (CDO), has left the bank after more than a decade with the company and two years as CDO. The bank stated that it would initially search internally for a successor.

“Our first aim is to give all from our own outstanding employees a chance to shine,” stated CDO David Heine. “We will spend the next three months assessing what talents we may require to supplement the expertise we already have.” Hale’s resignation was publicized on LinkedIn. “Well, it will be my last day at Region Australian Bank – the incredible little cooperative bank that could,” Hale explained. “I’m taking a few weeks off to enjoy the spring weather, regain my breath, and then try something new.” “I’m looking forward to the next episode and hope to see you soon!”

Heine described Hale as a “very talented executive,” adding that “it came as a shock to learn that he received several options to further his growth outside of the bank.” Hale, who describes himself as a consumer data rights (CDR) champion, was also instrumental in Regional Australian Bank being the first mutual to become a data receiver under the open banking system. “Rob has provided us with an outstanding example of the talents that may assist us in driving major programmes like as CDR ahead,” Heine stated. “Any Regional Australia Bank CEO must possess the same talents in order to manage teams to produce quality innovation while guaranteeing the greatest standards of service for our members.”

Hale started Regional Australia Bank, formerly Community Mutual Group, in 2010 as a senior manager for information and strategy before it became chief information officer in 2013. Before this, Hale worked at the University of New England for seven years, mostly as a solutions architect and then as an enterprise data storage manager.
