Woolworths’ W23 Invests in Gr4vy to Advance Cloud Payments Infrastructure

W23, the innovation arm of Woolworths Group, has made a significant “multi-million dollar” investment in Gr4vy, a provider of cloud payments infrastructure. This investment strengthens the existing relationship between the two companies, as Woolworths’ Wpay has been utilizing Gr4vy’s payment orchestration platform technology as part of its product development and innovation efforts.

The collaboration between Woolworths and Gr4vy began in late 2022 when they entered into a multi-year agreement aimed at simplifying Wpay’s management of complex payments. By leveraging Gr4vy’s payment orchestration platform and infrastructure, Wpay can easily handle payment complexities and provide diverse payment options.

Ingrid Maes, Managing Director of W23, expressed the organization’s commitment to seeking out disruptive businesses and technologies. Maes stated that Gr4vy’s platform simplifies the management of payment complexities and enables the offering of multiple payment options. W23 is pleased to work with Gr4vy as a trusted partner and support their business goals and continued success.

Gr4vy has previously secured a total funding of $27.2 million and intends to utilize the recent investment to further expand its presence in Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region. The company aims to capitalize on this growth to solidify its position in the market.
