Wesfarmers OneDigital signs five-year AWS agreement

Wesfarmers OneDigital, the data and digital division of Australian conglomerate Wesfarmers, has chosen Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its preferred cloud provider for group operations for the next five years.

Under the agreement, AWS will set up an AWS Skills Guild for every division within the company, offering training to technical and business teams with the goal of training and certifying 500 employees.

Managing director Nicole Sheffield said that OneDigital will benefit from AWS’s services covering “compute, storage, databases, security, and compliance”, allowing the company to focus on collating and integrating critical data sources, and building responsive systems.

Sheffield added that AWS’s access to high-quality engineering and delivery talent pools also factored into the decision to partner with the cloud provider. AWS is also the preferred cloud provider for Kmart, Target, Officeworks, Catch and Flybuys – all owned or part-owned by Wesfarmers.
