Virgin Australia’s ‘Architecture Brain’ Guides IT Transformation

Virgin Australia has developed an “architecture brain” to guide its multi-year IT transformation. The airline initiated this overhaul in 2021 to address tech debt and prepare for the future. A major challenge was a lack of documentation and data, leading to the creation of an enterprise architecture repository, known as the “architecture brain.”

This repository, powered by LeanIX, serves as a single source of truth for the airline’s technology landscape. It provides insights into the health of critical systems, helping the board and executives make informed decisions. Virgin Australia has seen a 40% improvement in system health over the past two years due to this initiative.
