Inhouse Ventures, Australia’s number one marketplace for startups, is scaling its global footprint following its latest investment round connecting founders, industry leaders and VCs with its innovative matching technology.
Taking the friction out of startup funding, Inhouse Ventures unique matching technology automates the fundraising process, allowing founders to match with investors and VCs to access funding faster. Following their latest funding round, Australia’s number one marketplace is now eyeing global expansion receiving backing from Scalare Partners and venture studio Shadowboxer.
Counting a community of 5500+ founders, investors, VC’s and family offices, Inhouse Ventures start-up platform also matches members with ecosystem players across marketing, finance, PR and legal, allowing them to navigate the complicated start-up ecosystem and access the capital they need to succeed.
Noticing that the ecosystem was highly fragmented and difficult to conquer, partner Elliot Spiegel developed a matching technology based on unique investor data where founders can upload a video listing to receive match requests and investor meetings instantly, much like a modern dating profile.
“Like dating, raising capital is tough, we met many founders who were exhausted from pounding the pavement and getting nowhere. Our platform helps take the friction out of funding, and gives them the tools they need to succeed,” IHV partner Elliot Spiegel said.
Australia’s tech startups felt the crunch in 2023, raising $4billion less from investors compared to the previous year, while the number of deals has almost halved. Recognising the shift early, Inhouse Ventures sought to help founders weather the funding winter by adding not just traditional venture capital investors, but family offices and angel investors to the online community. Since launching 18 months ago, they’ve successfully helped broker more than 2000+ matches between investors, founders and thought-leaders with a mission to help more than 1500 founders successfully raise and go to market by 2025.
The platform boasts a range of startups and businesses including early stage ventures such as sustainability platform Brownee, messaging application Go Tradie and educational booking service Ed Tripper; right up to Series A companies like parking app Kerb, adtech business TRENDii and online styling marketplace Threadicated. A number of VC’s have also been requesting access to the family office segment on the platform.
With the new backing from Scalare Partners and venture studio Shadowboxer, Inhouse Ventures is focused on expanding further into global markets and rolling out new initiatives to help founders refine their pitch using AI and succeed faster.
“Australia boasts a rich ecosystem of founders, venture capitalists and thought leaders but the challenge has always been in connecting founders with the right people to succeed. With interest rates climbing and capital markets feeling the pinch, the traditional route to funding success is narrower, but we saw the potential in streamlining the process with Inhouse Ventures to support the next generation of startups and safeguard our ecosystem for the next decade,” Scalare Partners co-founder, partner James Walker said.
Melbourne based venture studio, Shadowboxer prides itself in supporting “big ideas and giving them everything we’ve got; our time, money, talent and craft.” Founder Konrad Spilva said the group’s natural synergy with Inhouse Ventures allowed them to be uniquely positioned to support the build and scale of a runway of founders looking to attract funding and grow their business. Inhouse Ventures new AI platform will roll out its next generation technology in the new year. Early sign-up access is open now at inhouseventures.com.au
