Voice AI Startup Resemble AI Raises $8 Million in Funding Round

San Francisco-based voice artificial intelligence startup, Resemble AI, has successfully secured $8 million in a funding round, with leading venture capital firm Javelin Ventures as the primary investor. Existing investors Craft Ventures and Ubiquity Ventures, as well as Comcast Ventures, also participated in the Series A round.

Resemble AI specializes in generative AI technology applied to clone voices. The company boasts a user base of 1 million individuals who utilize their product to clone their own voices. Additionally, Resemble AI serves more than 200 business clients, including music producers, game studios, and voice actors, who leverage the technology for various applications, according to CEO Zohaib Ahmed.

In an effort to address concerns surrounding voice cloning and its potential misuse in scams and other illicit activities, Resemble AI announced the launch of a new product. This product is designed to detect AI-generated audio, thereby promoting safe and ethical use cases for voice cloning technology.

Ahmed emphasized the company’s commitment to making AI tools accessible to a wider audience while prioritizing ethical considerations. Resemble AI recognizes the importance of discussing and addressing the ethical implications associated with AI technologies.
