Transgrid hires the CIO of Endeavor Group

Australia

Judith Powell, the Endeavour Group’s chief information officer, has joined Transgrid. Powell expressed her excitement about sharing her new CIO position at the power transmission network operator on LinkedIn.

Under Transgrid’s newly reorganised finance and strategy division, Powell will answer to chief financial officer Nadine Lennie.

She has responsibility for Transgrid’s information technology initiatives and makes sure that the IT strategy, infrastructure, and capabilities are in step with the rate of change in the energy industry.

Powell, according to Lennie, “is a highly experienced senior IT executive” with expertise in “IT operations, project management, and programming domains, including senior leadership roles spanning shipping, recruitment, and FMCG.”

She has held CIO positions and oversaw significant change initiatives for multinational corporations with operations in the UK, India, and Australia.

Lennie continued, saying that Powell oversaw “a staff of over 500 specialists and providing IT services to 28,000 people over 2000 sites in Australia” while working for Endeavour Group.

According to Lennie, “Her experience, including leading significant transformation programmes, will be crucial in assisting Transgrid and its personnel in providing crucial transmission infrastructure for Australia’s future renewable energy.”

After Russell Morris left Transgrid for APA Group, a different energy infrastructure company, the company lost its CIO in June of last year.

Andrew Dome, the director of digital operations and experience at Transgrid, assumed the role of acting CIO after Morris left.

Dome will presumably revert to his prior post, it is understood.
