The Tasmanian government claims that 16,000 documents were leaked in the GoAnywhere breach

The Tasmanian government has reported that about 16,000 financial invoices and statements issued by the Department of Education were lost and leaked as a result of the GoAnywhere breach. According to Minister for Science and Technology Madeleine Ogilvie, the documents contained information relating to student assistance applications and may include names and addresses. The government had previously disclosed its exposure to the breach of third-party file transfer service GoAnywhere MFT, and later confirmed that financial data from the Department of Education may have been stolen. The government has enlisted CyberCX to assist with investigations and urged people to remain alert for suspicious financial activity or attempted scams. The community will be kept informed of any updates, Ogilvie said.
