The NSW SES is replacing its dispatch system

The State Emergency Service of NSW is undergoing a significant upgrade to its operational technology, which includes replacing its computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system. The project began in February of this year and is expected to enter the design phase in the coming months. The entire project is estimated to be completed by the second half of 2024.

To lead and oversee the project of replacing the NSW SES operational systems, including the CAD system, the agency has advertised for a director of “program operational systems.” This role will involve developing requirements for the design project.

The NSW SES received a funding boost of $89 million from the NSW government in December 2022, with a portion of the funding allocated for the new CAD system. The new system will be aligned with the operational systems of other emergency services in NSW.

In addition to the CAD system replacement, the SES is also working on improving the integration between its operational management systems to enhance its emergency response capabilities. The recruitment for the core project team, including the director role, is part of these broader initiatives.
