Rebecca Ostergaard has been appointed as CSIRO’s first chief digital officer (CDO). Ostergaard was previously the digital services project director at Western Australia’s office of digital government. With over 25 years of experience, she has also held roles in telecommunications and in various technology management positions at the University of Western Australia.
As CDO, Ostergaard will lead the development of CSIRO’s digital strategy, reimagining the way science is done, and creating a digital experience for its people and partners.
CSIRO Executive Director Elanor Huntington praised Ostergaard as a skilled digital executive with broad experience in digitisation across multiple sectors. Ostergaard will officially join CSIRO on March 13 and will be based in Perth.
