Telstra has established a standalone IT function and appointed Kieran O’Meara as the executive in charge of IT and software engineering across the entire group.
O’Meara had been acting in the role since December 2021 when IT was separated from the group, and his appointment was made permanent according to an internal announcement.
The role includes all areas of technology such as customer technology, digital, and software engineering. Telstra’s Group Executive of Product and Technology, Kim Krogh Andersen, stated that O’Meara’s extensive experience and ability to lead at scale makes him the ideal candidate for the position.
O’Meara has been with Telstra for over a decade and has held various technology leadership positions, including leading software engineering for the company.
