At MWC 2025 in Barcelona, Lenovo introduced a solar-powered Yoga PC that charges itself to observe sunlight. The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 is going on in Barcelona until March 6th. Additionally, the company put the Thinkbook ‘’Codename Flip’’ AI PC concept laptop on display. It might look like a normal laptop, but the screen is twice the size of the base. Its massively extended screen caught everyone’s attention at the event.
The company showed off some of the very interesting prototypes. ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 is the first convertible laptop of its series. The screen can be pushed back to turn it into a tablet. It has a higher memory limit of 64GB, so it will probably be quite a bit faster than the previous version, the ThinkPad T14s.
The Yoga Solar laptop has solar panels behind the display. The laptop has back contact cell technology to absorb sunlight. According to Lenovo, the panel converts more than 24% of the sunlight into electricity. It will allow the device to prioritize sending harvested energy to the key components. Exposing the laptop to the sun for 20 minutes can provide one hour of video playback.
Though the concept devices are quite interesting, however, whether either of them will become a proper product in the future is a mystery.
