Skillsoft appoints new Chief People Officer

Kristi Hummel has been named chief people officer at Skillsoft and a pioneer in incorporating digital learning. Hummel has over 25 years of expertise directing multinational technology firms’ personnel initiatives.

Kristi Hummel told HRD that she most looks forward to improving Skillsoft’s employee experience and atmosphere in her new job. “In the previous 18 months, the modern office has undergone a major digital shift,” Hummel remarked. “Although this hybrid approach has its drawbacks, this has offered a massive opportunity for all companies, including Skillsoft, to reconsider how they maximize the employee engagement.

“We strive to create an atmosphere in which every person is encouraged to perform their best work, and our folks culture is based on inclusion, curiosity, flexibility, and cooperation. Before Skillsoft, Kristi Hummel was formerly a senior vice president of HR at Dell Technologies, where she was in charge of the company’s personnel and environment. She has also headed Dell’s worldwide HR team and managed individuals issues for several departments, including Dell’s services and digital, marketing, and chief customer office. Hummel also oversaw the Dell and EMC Company combination, where she’s in charge of organizational design, project management, and cultural blending.

Kristi Hummel was formerly the chief HR officer of VCE, a high-growth networking firm. She had previously worked at EMC as vice president of Hr processes, where she was in charge of several merger and acquisition integrations. Hummel is the head of the compensation committee and co-chair of the DEI workgroup on the board of regents of Boston’s Museum of Science.
