Sanitizer Contamination Leads to Urgent Recall of Kids’ Yoghurt

A popular kids’ yoghurt product has been recalled by Food Standards Australia due to chemical contamination.

Two states have urgently pulled the food product from shelves after a batch of the popular snack was contaminated with sanitizer.

The affected product is Brownes Dairy’s Selfie Star yoghurt pouches in mango flavour. The batch affected by the contamination with a use-by date of October 14, 2022.

FSA is urging anyone who has purchased the affected product not to consume it, and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The products were sold at independent food retailers such as IGA in NSW and Western Australia.

This is a serious food safety issue and parents should be aware of the potential risks associated with consuming contaminated food.

If your child has consumed any of the affected yoghurt, it is important to seek medical advice as soon as possible.
