NBN Co has announced changes to its executive leadership team. The reshuffle involves elevating Dion Ljubanovic to the position of Chief Network Officer and promoting Chief Engineering Officer John Parkin to the role of Chief Operating Officer. These changes were prompted by the decision of the current Chief Operating Officer, Kathrine Dyer, to depart from the organization.
Smooth Transition and Operational Expertise
John Parkin will officially assume the role of Chief Operating Officer on October 1, following a transition period during which he will work closely with Kathrine Dyer to ensure a seamless transfer of responsibilities. Parkin has been part of NBN Co since mid-2018 and will leverage his operational experience to take on this new leadership role.
Elevating Long-term Contributors
Dion Ljubanovic, with nearly 12 years of service at NBN Co and diverse roles within the organization, has been promoted to Chief Network Officer. Ljubanovic has demonstrated a strong engineering background and has spearheaded crucial aspects of NBN Co’s network deployment and regional deployment activities. CEO Stephen Rue expressed confidence in Ljubanovic’s abilities and welcomed him to the executive committee.
Rue stated, “Dion has a strong engineering background and over the last 12 years has headed our regional deployment and network deployment activities. He has worked closely with peers across both operations and network and engineering services, and I know the networks team in particular will support him in their shared commitment to upgrading and evolving the NBN network to meet the digital needs of Australia now and into the future.”
These changes reflect NBN Co’s commitment to maintaining strong leadership and expertise as it continues to advance and enhance the National Broadband Network to serve the digital requirements of Australia’s citizens and businesses.
