Melbourne Airport Ranks Among the Top 20 Airports in the World

Australia’s Tullamarine Airport has been ranked among the top 20 airports in the world, according to a recent survey conducted by Skytrax World Airport Awards. This prestigious award is the most respected of its kind, and it is a testament to the quality of service that Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport has to offer.

The survey assessed airports from across the world, including Australia’s own, to determine which ones are the most impressive in terms of their facilities, customer service, and overall quality. The results of the survey revealed that Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport placed 19th in the rankings, making it the only Australian airport to place in the top 20.

This is a remarkable achievement for Tullamarine Airport, especially when compared to major international airports. Singapore Changi, for instance, which boasts its own butterfly garden, unsurprisingly took out the top spot. This is a testament to the quality of service and facilities that Tullamarine Airport can provide to its customers.

Sydney Airport ranked 3rd, Brisbane 23rd, Perth 58th and Adelaide 73rd in the prestigious awards amongst the Australian airports.

Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport, established in 1970, is the second busiest airport in Australia, and its T4 terminal was voted the seventh best low-cost airline terminal. Melbourne also garnered the highest ranking for best airport staff in the Australia-Pacific region, followed by Brisbane and then the Gold Coast.

Lorie Argus, the Chief Executive of Melbourne Airport, expressed her immense pride in the airport’s accomplishments.

“After listening to our travellers, we have understood what needs to be improved. To illustrate, we have spent over $40 million on renovating our toilets and rest rooms, which resulted in a drastic decrease in complaints and an increase in pride,” she said.
