Here we sit down with Natalie, to know a bit more about her journey as an entrepreneur.
Q. Tell us a little more about your journey as an entrepreneur – how did you get started? What inspired you?
Natalie: I started my journey in Canada 10 years ago when I decided to pursue a Master of Social Work in order to give back to others and my community. I’m inspired to give back as I grew up in the child protection system, which often leaves those young people left behind.
I am determined to change the narrative of “just another foster kid in the system” and show that miracles can happen with the right support and determination.
Q. What’s one thing in your routine that you do consistently that has made a huge difference in your personal or business life?
Natalie: Being grateful is one of the main practices that I use to stay goal driven and positive for the future. Being grateful can help switch that negative mindset into a positive one where good thoughts can flow!
Q. Who are your mentors and inspiration? and what knowledge or insight did they give to you that was valuable?
Natalie: Tony Robbins is a big inspiration and virtual mentor for me, as his wealth of knowledge has given me the tools I need to excel as an entrepreneur. Tony Robbins knows how to get straight to the point and doesn’t fluff around, which is good for people like me who struggle with their mindset.
Tony has been able to teach me some amazing mindset skills that have allowed me to stay on track and remember that I am unstoppable!
Q. What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
Natalie: The most satisfying moment in business so far has been the creation of my website and platforms because I get to interact with all the people who are keen to get motivated with me. My platforms promote who I am as a person and what I want to share with the world.
On my pages, you will find inspirational quotes, stories and mental health tips that can keep you on track with your goals and live the life you’ve always wanted to! As a registered social worker, I upload content that with help boost your mood and get you back into your groove!
Q. How do you market your business, and which tactics have been most successful?
Natalie: I am currently working with Facebook and Google to expand my reach and get the word out there. Facebook and Instagram have been the most promising as I can reach people with similar interests and goals!
Q. What have been your biggest failures or challenges?
Natalie: With that being said, it has been difficult to build an organic following with Facebook, but by far the biggest challenge has been my own mindset.
It is hard to lean into a winning mindset when your whole life you’ve been made to believe you’re not worthy. Fighting that inner voice every day is a big challenge, but it gets easier each day with practice.
Q. How did this failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?
Natalie: Having difficulties with my social media has helped me to see that even in failure, growth prevails, and it allowed me to become more determined. Failure allowed me to believe in myself and my brand more because I wasn’t willing to give up.
My mindset was challenged, but it helped me to see that I have what it takes to achieve my dreams and support others on their journey in alternative ways than traditional therapy.
Q. If someone was to create a TV show about you, what would it be about and what would it be called?
Natalie: “Natalie’s Way” would be about a remarkable life story that walks through the challenges of what it is like growing up in the child protection system and overcoming insurmountable obstacles to build the life all foster children dream of and deserve.
Natalie’s Way would show viewers the not-so-pretty side of mental health and how she found a way to believe in and harness the power inside of us all.
