Interview with Jayconomics Shines a Light
Q. Who has been the greatest inspiration of Jayconomics?
Jayconomics: I’ll give two – one family member and one outside inspiration. My grandfather and Jordan Peterson.
My grandfather because of our close bond, his unique sense of humor, his hardworking nature, and his wisdom. I learned so much from my 21 years on earth with him and I would not be the man I am today without his love, understanding, and guidance.
Jordan Peterson because of his ability to communicate such powerful messages and lessons about the simplest of things. I learned so much from JP – not only about the world and relationships – but also about myself over the course of the last 5 years.
I owe both of these great men a lot and I am so grateful for their impact on my life.

Q. If you had a magic stick, which are the three things you would change in the world?
- The Financial System. The average person is not financially literate. That is just a fact. The majority of people have no idea how to invest or manage their money – most people live paycheck to paycheck while Wall Street, major corporations, and elites use all of the tricks in the book to create even more wealth for themselves. Banks take your money and lend it out – they don’t actually own the money – it’s all just numbers on a screen. The government prints money whenever it needs it – look no further than the last few years. I could go on for hours on this but the main takeaway is that the system is designed for the benefit of a shortlist of people while the average person always gets the butt end of the stick. The thesis behind cryptocurrency and blockchain is that we can put the power back into the people’s hands – and blockchain makes everything 100% transparent.
- The Education System. As it is, the education system is designed to mold children and young adults into worker bees who stay on a singular narrow path, without ever questioning it. You can’t expect every person to learn the same thing in the same way. It’s just not realistic. There are many different learning styles and interests. It’s no coincidence that topics such as personal finance, investing, nutrition, and more, are not part of the main curriculum. That’s all I’ll say here but I’ll let you put two and two together.
- Societal Norms in the West. The West is considered by many to be the cream of the crop when it comes to life on Earth for humans. It’s glamorized everywhere. And don’t get me wrong, there are many positives that have come from Western civilization. However, there are many aspects that the West has forgotten about, and increasingly purposefully demonized – family, faith & spirituality, nutrient-dense foods, natural remedies & Eastern medicine, individuality & critical thinking, all come to mind. Consumerism and tribalism are encouraged for a reason.
Q. What is the part of your life experience you would alter if you had the chance to?
Jayconomics: It’s going to sound cliché but I truly would not alter any part of my life. I’m a strong believer that your life is a book – each chapter of your life is beneficial and even necessary to get to where you need to be.
