For an unknown fee, Deloitte Australia is acquiring Hacktive, a four-year-old cyber security risk advisory company.
Famous information security experts Chris Gatford and Keith Hazelwood created Hacktive in 2018 to offer vulnerability assessment, pen testing, MSSP services, incident readiness, and response.
The company’s 10 employees serve clients in the public, retail, health, utility, and financial services industries.
The Hacktive team “will complement our existing capabilities, including our global network of cyber intelligence centres that have been helping clients analyse and mitigate their cyber threats for some time now,” said Ian Blatchford, Deloitte’s cyber head.
On October 11, the Hacktive team is anticipated to formally join Deloitte.
Gatford launched HackLabs in 2009, which became Pure Security in 2013 after merging with Rivium, Pure Hacking, Certitude, Securus Global, and Securus Australia. HackLabs was founded before Hacktive.
Following a significant data breach at the telco, Optus recently requested the services of Deloitte Australia to perform a post-incident review.
