Foxtel Group Unveils Hubbl for Streamlined Content Access

Foxtel Group has unveiled “Hubbl,” the official name for its highly-anticipated Project Magneto. Hubbl will bring together paid and free streaming entertainment within a unified user interface, eliminating the need for consumers to switch between multiple apps to find content. This new technology, set to launch in Australia in the coming months, aims to provide a smoother experience for viewers managing multiple content subscriptions.

Hubbl is built on an entertainment operating system and will be accessible on two different devices. The platform will continue to evolve through regular software updates without requiring new hardware. Backed by global players, including Comcast USA and Sky UK, Hubbl will simplify content searches and enable viewers to pick up where they left off.

Hubbl, a compact device compatible with various TVs, can also be accessed through “Hubbl Glass,” a high-quality TV with a built-in soundbar that requires an internet connection and a power cord. Foxtel, which owns Hubbl, aims to transform the TV viewing experience with this next quantum leap in entertainment technology.

According to Foxtel Group and Hubbl CEO Patrick Delany, the solution addresses common frustrations associated with managing multiple streaming subscriptions, such as the need to navigate different apps, track show recommendations, and remember where viewers left off. Hubbl integrates free and paid entertainment seamlessly and is expected to become a central element of many Australian households.

The technology offers a “frictionless paid and free entertainment environment” by combining content from apps, channels, and the internet into one user-friendly experience, accessible via Hubbl Hub or Hubbl Glass. Foxtel plans to release more details about app partners and additional features in the coming months.

This innovation aligns with the changing landscape of streaming services, providing viewers with a simplified and unified approach to accessing their favorite content.
