Former NRL star and NFL veteran Jarryd Hayne has kept himself busy while cooped up in jail, waiting for the final say about his hearing.
While appealing his sexual assault conviction, the esteemed start bought two off the plan apartments in Parramatta, Sydney’s west, back in 2013 while he was still playing for the Parramatta Eels.
The purchase price of the apartments was $600,000 and $605,000 respectively.
Now, Jarryd is selling his level 17 dual key apartment which comes with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Ray Fayad and Peter Younan who are Laing + Simmons Parramatta agents are seeking a massive $670,000 for the property. The building was finished in 2015 by Merfad Capital. Hayne has managed to amass quite an impressive property portfolio, while he rose through the ranks of the NRL. However now he only has the two Parramatta apartments and a cottage at Umina Beach on the Central Coast, which is where his mother now lives.
His first ever Sydney home which he purchased at St Peters (inner west) sold for a whopping $995,000 in 2015, around the same time that he moved to the US in pursuit of an NFL career. He bought the home for just $527,500 in 2007, when he was the second youngest footballer to play for NSW at just 19 years of age.
Jarryd Hayne had investment properties located in Paddington and Darlinghurst, some of Sydney’s most elite eastern suburbs, that were sold for $2.85m in 2017 and $2.15 m in 2019.
Jarryd Hayne was found guilty of sexual assault in May, and was subsequently jailed for five years and nine months. His non-parole period is three years and eight months, and his appeal is set to be heard in November.
