The former Brisbane Lions player Jason Akermanis has not lost his activeness even after retiring from the world of sports!
He is now active in the world of de-finance, more specifically, in cryptocurrencies.
‘Better Product Than Bitcoin’
Last Tuesday Jason surprised the finance freaks when he unveiled his very own Australian cryptocurrency. It is called Zucoin, and it is expected to generate more than $ 6 billion.
“It’s a much better product than bitcoin,” Akermanis said to a news portal (news.com.au). He expects Zucoin to takenover many major cryptocurrencies in the coming months ahead.
“Zucoin solves all the problems”, said Jason “The cost is a text message, the speed is an instant.”
The Project Took Four Years
The entire Zucoin crypto project has been planned for four years and costed him and his team about $ 23 million to get up and running.
Mr Akermanis, 44, said they had recovered their initial investment money just a week after the project was announced. Isn’t that cool now?
At present, there are close to 1900 people who own at least one Zucoin in Australia.
Who Owns Zucoin?
Most of them are investors who buy coins directly from the market.
“At least a tenth of them came directly from me,” revealed Mr. Akermanis to a news portal (Courtesy: news.com.au)
“They (the owners of the Zucoin) vary by buying one to 300,000 coins.
Each coin costs $ 60, making it the most expensive crypto at the moment in terms of its Initial market price.
Other Cryptocurrencies
Bitcoin started back in 2009 at $ 0. A year later, it was trading for less than a cent and in 2011, it was worth $ 1 per coin.
The second largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, was very different, starting trading at $ 3.76 in 2015.
Now bitcoin costs $ 59,095.68 while Ethereum is $ 3,986.58.
Despite market volatility, Zucoin, unlike its competitors, cannot drop below $ 60 per coin.
“We’ve installed software where you can’t sell for less (under $ 60),” said Mr Akermanis.
“Your order will be cancelled. You can try but you will not be able to do it. “
Mr. Akermanis believes his coins are much higher than the others available.
Jason’s View On Bitcoin
“Bitcoin will not last,” said the former AFL star.
With a regular retail investor, they would not be able to afford bitcoin if the price continued to rise, according to him.
His Zucoin, on the other hand, is open to anyone.
Bitcoin, Ethereum and all other similar currencies go through a slow and insecure crypto exchange process.
Zucoins go through a server and “works in a split chain, different to a blockchain” making it more secure.
