On Tuesday, Russian actor Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko flew to space in a mission to make the world’s first movie in orbit.
The new movie title ‘’ Challenge’ few segments will be shot in space by the crew. In the movie, surgeons rush to space state to save a crew member who suffers from heart disease.
The Guardian wrote, Pair likely to beat Hollywood project announced by Tom cruise, NASA, and Elon Musk’s SpaceX. The Russian crew will reach the cosmos ahead of Hollywood actors.
They will stay in space for 12 days, and return to earth on October 17 with another Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, who has been in space for the last six months.
Shkaplerov said, ‘’Not only do we need to make a film, but we also need to come back to Earth alive, ‘’
Crew Training for Space
The actress said, ‘’ it was psychologically, physically, and morally hard. But I think once we achieve the goal, all that will seem not so difficult, and we will remember it with a smile.’’
A few minutes after launch Peresild’s daughter said that she is in shock. She can’t imagine that her mum is out there.
Russian state television covered the whole training session and launch of the three crew members. The patriotic coverage of the event, with the countdown clock running on Channel one showed the significant breakthrough by Russia.
Though, the Russian space industry faced issues recently which delays their planes. They faced corruption scandals, accidents, and further delays. While Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos have had developed new spaceships.
Moscow recently cooperated aboard the ISS, where astronauts and cosmonauts lived side by side.
After the Launch, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskove said, ‘’Space is where we became pioneers and we still maintain a confident lead despite everything.’’
World’s eyes on the Mission
It’s remarkable news for the theme of space in general. Through these films, the Russian space industry is promoted. The Soviets launched the first satellite, sputnik, and sent the first animal dog named Laikka, first woman Valentina Tereshkova and now actors into orbit.
According to The Guardian, modern Russia has struggled to innovate its space industry with Kremlin prioritize spending on the military.
Meanwhile, the space agency still relies on the soviet designed technology. It has faced several setbacks and scandals. And this launch brings new hope for the space industry.
