With Easter weekend just around the corner, Sydney airport is expecting an influx of thousands of passengers jetting off for their holiday. Unfortunately, this has resulted in huge delays and long queues, leaving many travellers frustrated.
The airport has been warning passengers that they should give themselves extra time when heading to the airport to avoid being caught in the queues. Some travellers have reported waiting up to an hour before they were able to check in, however, the pace did quicken once they reached security.
The airport has been proactive in trying to reduce delays. They have been encouraging passengers to check in online to avoid the queues and have implemented a new system that groups passengers together depending on their destination. This has allowed more efficient processing of passengers, however, it has not been enough to completely eliminate delays.
It is recommended that travelers come to the airport at least 90 minutes to two hours before their flight to allow enough time to find a parking spot and guarantee they get on the plane on time.
