Here we sit down with Stacy, to know a bit more about her journey as a marketer.
Q. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
Stacy: I have always been passionate about helping others and building a team of like minded people around me with the same passions. My desire to share information that is accessible to everyone to help them be more informed and therefore make better decisions and choices is at the heart of what I do and content marketing and design is a perfect medium for this. Being able to create a conduit for this is what makes Content Box a perfect medium for educating and bringing people together.
Q. How did you get started?
Stacy: I started my career in education and soon found that I had a passion for business development and building relationships with people. I also worked with wonderful designers who were able to bring my ideas and visions to life. Over many years of living in Asia and traveling the world, I came to realise that education is a powerful tool that brings communities together, creates opportunities, and is a pathway out of poverty. I needed to find a way to bring everything together and content design and marketing has been the conduit for this.
Q. What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?
Stacy: Believing in your passion, being prepared to change directions to get the right proof of concept happening, resilience, and hard work. Loving what you do makes it easy. I love education as a sector and I love helping others, so the 2 go hand in hand. And when done for a greater social good, it is even more motivating.
Q. What is the Most Memorable Thing You’ve Done Since you Started your Business?
Stacy: Working with a number of different business owners across the aged care and disability sector to design content that engages their audiences and educates people about the challenges elderly people and those living with disabilities face on a daily basis. This work has ranged from blog development to newsletters, email campaigns, digital and print campaigns, and video content and has involved working with some fantastic people who are passionate about the sector.
Q. What is one book you recommend, and why?
Stacy: There are so many books I love, most are autobiographical stories of people giving back to social causes. There are too many to name just one.
Q. In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?
Stacy: I’d like to be known for helping to empower people through sharing content that educates and informs and gives back to communities as much as possible.
Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?
Stacy: Find something that you love and turn it into a job.
