Sweden- a man alive today, as drone delivery of Defibrillator just on time save him from Cardiac arrest. The 71-year-old man was shoveling snow outside his home in the town of Trollhattan. He experienced cardiac arrest, and a doctor was driving nearby came for help. His wife called emergency service while the doctor perform CPR. Emergency service dispatched an unnamed aerial vehicle carrying a defibrillator. The drone arrived in less than four minutes.
Emergency Medical Aerial Delivery
The system is known as Emergency Medical Aerial Delivery (EMADE). It was developed by Everdrones to help patients within 10 minutes of experiencing cardiac arrest. The man last named Sven told reporters about his experience and said, ‘’ everything from the first 112 calls to the drone getting the signal to start and go took 15-30 seconds. Then the whole process took about three and a half minutes.’’
The doctor named Mustafa Ali used the device AED upon arrival. AED is a computerized medical device used to detect a person’s heart rhythm and perform shocks if needed. Ali said, ‘’ I was on my way to work at the local hospital when I looked out the car window and saw a man collapsed in his driveway.’’
He added, ‘’ I immediately understood that something is wrong and rushed to help. The man had no pulse, so I started doing CPR while asking another bystander to call 112. Just minutes later, I saw something flying above my head. It was a drone with a defibrillator. ‘’
The 71-year-old patient fully recovered and was able to return home. He was very thankful for the new technology and the speedy delivery of the device. He said, ‘’I can’t put into words how thankful I am. If it wasn’t for the drone I probably wouldn’t be here.’’
