David Gillespie replaces Mike wood as the new Chief information officer of Allianz. The insurance company Allianz is part of the Global Allianz group. It is granted a license by regulators APRA and ASIC to sell insurance products in Australia. It is known as Allianz Australia life insurance Ltd.
David Gillespie was working as a chief information officer at Alina Energy. However, he replaced Mike wood who left his role as CIO of Allianz last year to work with Brisbane- based Suncorp.
Peter Oaks as acting CIO
Though, after Mike Wood left the company, Peter Oaks stepped in as acting CIO between October 2021 to May 2022. Wood leaving the company said that his new role in the company Suncorp insurance is a “very exciting opportunity with such a great company,” and that he was looking for new challenges in his career and looking forward to meeting his new colleagues.

Gillespie has held leadership roles in companies like BUPA, EDS, Compaq and New bridge Networks. During his career he saw significant transformation such as in TAL’s operations, rolling out Fineos’s claims management software to better manage customer claims.
