Based out of Melbourne Massive Monster developers is a three-person studio that has released the trailer of Cult of the Lamb. The game was announced by developer Digital and Massive monster during Gamescom opening night live.

This adventurous and dark game is expected to be released for consoles and PC in early 2022. The game will be a combination of starting a cult, growing a flock, and cleansing the non-believers.

The game creators Jay Armstrong and Julian Wilton said in an interview with 9News that it’s not for the kids. Wilton said, ‘’ we wanted to make something, you know, a bit more grown-up.’’

WHAT IS THE CULT OF LAMB AND HOW IT WORKS?

The Creator Jay Armstrong describe it as a sacrificial lamb Cliché and said,

“Cult of the Lamb is a hybrid dungeon-crawler meets base-building colony sim-manager game,’’

It is a game based on innocent lambs who escape from becoming a cult. As the game progresses, the player bumps into a mass of cute animals who do everything for the player and worship him. 

It’s a dark, mystical game full of monsters and enemy cults. However, once you get the cute animals they will worship you and keep you alive through the game. Meanwhile, you must keep their confidence, otherwise, they will start to rebel against your teachings. Armstrong said.

The creators were a bit nervous before the opening night of Gamescom, as they had high expectations. 

Mr. Armstrong said,’’ It’s going to be a tough night’s sleep the night before.’’

Mr. Wilton was very optimistic about the game and said we are hoping for some love, but even if we receive some hate, we will take it as well. 

The game is not shown to anyone, except the team members. They wanted to keep it secret and introduce the trailer to the world. 

Before launching the game, the developers had few prototypes along the way. In the early stage of the game, it was named as ‘’Sacrificial Lamb’’. Talking to 9News Wilton said, ‘’we’d been working on a prototype for a while now, a janky thing, that we needed to get to a stage that we could pitch to publishers.’’ 

They also received a funding grant from the Film Victoria last year, which helps to took cult of lamb to a next level. 

For the next few months, the game will reveal more details about the game. Talking about the release of the game the Mr. Wilton Said, 

“Definitely next year. Can’t say anything too specific really, because with game development, I mean, you never know.”
