CRYOGENIC FREEZING: BRINGING THE DEATH BACK TO LIFE

The first cryogenic freezing facility from Australia will open next year. Despite its co-founder’s doubts, the possibility to freeze human beings for preservation after death will become real.

Peter Tsolakides, the director of Southern Cryonics, said that there are 32 Australians who paid $50,000 each to beneficiate from this service. Their age is between 30 and 80 years.

What does Cryonics mean? It is a technique of deep-freezing human bodies. Scientists are counting on the scientific advancements from the future, and they are hoping bodies will revive in the future as cryogenic freezing can do.

The humans had never been able to bring back to life frozen bodies. Only Russian roundworms had some success.

The director of Southern Cryonics mentioned three components needed in this project: cryostats, cooling boxes, and liquid nitrogen. Cryostats are similar to a vacuum flask used to store people, cooling boxes are where the body’s temperature goes down to liquid nitrogen temperature. He pointed very clear that there is no solution to bring bodies back to life. They are hoping the future will come up with a solution.

Many scientists said that because of its molecular structure, the human body can not be preserved. In Southern Cryonics’s opinion, there is a solution to have the body suspended once it is dead. There are no guarantees that in the future, these bodies will be back to life. Yet, there might be a possibility, but there is nothing for sure.

Southern Cryonics was founded in 1971. Its members, 32, are very optimistic and present a major interest in science and technology. The big equipment will be there in the next few months. The minor equipment will be bought locally. The people trained for this scientific trial are doctors, nurses, perfusionists, and funeral directors. Each of them understands general processes, principles, physiology, and has practical experience. Yet, they will be trained for the specifics involved in cryonics.

The full membership was closed on 6 July. A full member paid Aust$70,000. After the opening of the facility, the price for full membership will rise to $150,000 for a suspension at the facility. If you are insurable, life insurance usually covers the price. If you are at an advanced age, you should consider the $70K Full Membership, which is cheaper.

Why consider it? Because it is known that none of us is getting any younger. Indeed, we can’t be sure cryonics will work. Yet, there is a chance.
