SYDNEY CAFÉ OWNER PRAISED FOR NON-DISCRIMINATORY BUSINESS APPROACH

Bare Wholefoods owner, Anthony Milotic, announced that they will continue to only serve their food as takeaway until unvaccinated customers are allowed to sit along with the rest of society.

In his “open letter to the community”, Milotic said he wanted “everyone to feel welcome” on his premises.

He wanted to embrace the value of “unity” rather than “segregation” in these challenging times.

He made the announcement via an Instagram post made last week.

Part of his caption read:

“We will always value family and hope that you feel the same.

Right now the path out is unknown, but we do know one thing. We won’t stand for segregation. We are one, we are family!

Choosing love, accepting differences and a community in unity is what we need right now.

So we have chosen to continue to operate as takeaway only until everyone is free to dine in.

I want everyone to feel welcome at all times and I will never put profit before people.

Thank you for your continued support. Remember we are open for takeaway, delivery and shipping Australia-wide!”

Milotic said that the vaccinated group’s support flooded the cafe.

“All comments are in support of my view,” he claimed.

However, some still did not take his approach well.

A few declared that they would never patronize with the business again.

One person even commented on his Facebook post: “Screw you … NEVER going to your place. Too many other options available that believe in protecting society.”

UNVAXXED TREATED AS SECOND-CLASS CITIZENS

Milotic’s move aims to combat the ongoing trend of discrimination toward the unvaxxed.

Businesses can start trading again on the first Monday after NSW hits 70 per cent double vaccination rate.

These include hospitality and retail venues such as gyms, sporting facilities, and salons.

However, the ‘Reopening NSW’ road map only grants freedoms to those fully-vaccinated and/or with medical exemptions.

The unvaccinated have just weeks to get their jabs if they want to lead a normal life in NSW.

If not, all they will be able to do is access ‘essential retail’ like supermarkets and stay at home.

“You have been warned — come forward and get vaccinated or you won’t be able to participate,” NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced earlier this month.
