Coles Launches Fundraising Drive to Help Western Australia Residents Impacted by Devastating Floods

Throughout the second half of last year, Origin Energy updated the systems used by its “people and culture” division by switching its payroll, timekeeping, and attendance platforms to SAP cloud services.

Origin began the project, which involved implementing SAP employee central payroll, in the second half of 2022. What the business’s prior payroll system was is unknown.

Origin Energy and SAP announced in a joint release that “concurrently, a new time management solution was also launched to automate complex award entitlements.”

“Standardized pay cycles, plus a big culture shift for the team on how they record time and apply employment awards,” is the consequence, according to the process improvement claim.

In order to streamline and enhance the employee experience, Origin Energy also created “a customised self-serve HR site to host all policies, processes, and employee-facing content in one place.”

The two businesses claimed that this had led to a more positive and empowered employee experience across the organisation and a more than 50% reduction in the volume of inbound employee tickets lodged with HR.

The HR work followed “consolidation and upgrading” work on the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for Origin Energy in 2021.

We can now see the big picture, eliminate risk from our asset management practises, and realise significant savings through the end of FY24 thanks to the consolidation and upgrade of our ERP system to SAP, “Glenn Joseph, the director of ERP, planning, and reporting at Origin Energy, said in a statement.

“Since the implementation, there has been a significant impact on the entire organisation; for instance, Origin can now plan maintenance efforts more effectively because all of our data is in one system, giving us visibility over our entire Generation portfolio.

“Improved speed and efficiency are essential for Origin to have a greater focus on getting energy right for our consumers,” says the company.
