Chloe Clem, a young girl become famous in 2013 for a photo that went viral is now selling as an NFT for thousands of dollars.
NFTs are becoming a new sensation, previously there were several memes sold in the market as NFTs.
NFTs are digital tokens that are credited to the arts which have no physical representation. Such as digital images.
Chloe Clem is now 10 years old. The image was shared by her mother during their visit to surprise Disneyland trip. At that time, she was only two years old.
Her picture becomes very famous for showing an unimpressed reaction.
What NFTs provide to this picture?
An NFTs provide a digital certificate of ownership for the image of Chloe. However, it bears no copyright. The winner of the auction will own the digital token which represents the meme, but not the meme itself.
Meanwhile, NFTs are traded through Cryptocurrencies, so the transaction is recorded on a publicly available ledger known as the blockchain.
Though, cryptocurrencies are risky, recently china has blocked the use of cryptocurrency. But they are used for NFTs and other purposes.
Environmental experts show concerns over digital currencies, and the vast amounts of energy required for mining, processing transactions, and maintaining the blockchain.
