The UK, Italy, and Japan have come to an agreement to develop a combat fighter jet aircraft called the Tempest Jet that will make use of artificial intelligence, according to Rishi Sunak.
The nations will create a next-generation fighter that will eventually replace the Typhoon jet and is scheduled to go into service in the middle of the 2030s. The Tempest Jet is equipped with a variety of cutting-edge weapons and defensive combat abilities.
The new fighter aircraft is anticipated to be able to carry and launch hypersonic missiles, and it can also be operated without a pilot’s input if necessary.
According to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the partnership aims to strengthen security connections while creating thousands of job possibilities in the UK.
On October 25, 2022, Mr. Sunak was appointed prime minister. Prior to this, he had been appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Sunak stated that the collaboration will “keep the country safe from the new challenges that we face” during a visit to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire on Friday.
He remarked, “We’re one of the few nations in the world that can develop technologically cutting-edge fighter aircraft.

John Healey, the shadow defence secretary for Labour, claims that his party supported the alliance but issued a training warning.
In order to avoid delays in the training of fast-jet pilots, the ministers “must make clear how this fits with broader plans for the RAF’s future,” according to Healey.
