Bored Ape Yacht club accidentally sells worth $300,000 NFT for $3000

The bored Ape Yacht club sells non-fungible tokens (NFT) for $3000 instead of $300,000 accidentally. The owner of the Bored App made a typing error when listing an item for sale online. The NTF instantly snapped by a programmed account put back the NTF on sale for nearly $250,000. The owner, Maxnaut, told Cnet that he intends to list Bored Ape number 3,547 for sale at 75 Ethereum (ETH). Ethereum is a crypto-currency used for many NFT trades.

“How’d it happen? A lapse of concentration, I guess,” Max told. “I list a lot of items every day and just wasn’t paying attention properly. I instantly saw the error as my finger clicked the mouse but a bot sent a transaction with over 8 eths [roughly $34,000] of gas fees so it instantly sniped before I could click cancel, and just like that, $250k was gone.”

Bored Apes

The bored Apes was launched in April 2021, and is ‘’programmatically generated ‘’- is comprised of computer script mixes, designs, an array of colors, and accessories. Initially, it is sold for 0.08 ETH each and now sells for at least 50 ETH. Many celebrities and NFT enthusiasts use their apes as profile pictures on Twitter. Also, those have are part of the ‘’yacht club’’ are invited to community events and given access to exclusive digital content.

However, the Critic of NFT believes that it uses a lot of energy, the way the transactions are varied by high-powered computing. It leads to criticism that NFTs are bad for the environment. Also, it is not secure for errors. Like Bored apes, if you accidentally transfer NFTs, there is no return. You cannot claim it again. Unlike Banks, where if you did a wrong transaction, you can request your bank instantly to stop the transaction.
