Balenciaga Quits Twitter amid Ongoing Chaos

In the wake of Elon Musk’s chaotic takeover of Twitter, Balenciaga has become the latest high-profile brand to quit the social media platform.

The French fashion house, which is owned by luxury conglomerate Kering, confirmed its exit from the microblogging platform.

“Balenciaga has decided to close its official Twitter account,” a spokesperson said. “The brand will focus its energy and efforts on other social media platforms that better suit its image and voice.”

Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX, took control of Twitter after he announced that he had bought the social media platform for $US44 billion.

Since then, he has used his new position to wage a one-man war against the establishment, lashing out at traditional media outlets and his own employees.

Balenciaga is the latest in a long line of brands to distance themselves from Twitter in the wake of Musk’s takeover.

The brand has used Twitter to share news and announcements, as well as to connect with its customers and followers.

After Musk aggressively laid off thousands of employees, he hinted that controversial banned Twitter users like Donald Trump may be able to return to the platform under his watch. This has already caused a slew of celebrities and advertisers to flee the platform.
