Australian Unity, a company with operations in health insurance, home care, banking, and wealth, is enhancing its data focus by creating a new role of General Manager of Enterprise Data. The company has chosen Craig Rowlands, who previously served as Bupa’s Director of Data Technology, to fill the position, starting from August 7.
According to Australian Unity, the General Manager of Enterprise Data will play a crucial role within the technology and digital operations of the company. The appointment comes after Australian Unity established a new group technology function last year, led by Mark Gay from QBE Insurance.
Rowlands brings valuable experience from his nearly two-year tenure at Bupa, along with his previous data and information management roles at Medibank and Latitude Financial Services (formerly GE Capital). His expertise in data analytics and knowledge of various industry sectors make him a suitable candidate to develop and implement a data strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.
Mark Gay, the Group Executive for Technology at Australian Unity, believes that Rowlands will contribute significantly to the growth and transformation of the group’s technology functions. With a data-centric approach, the company aims to improve its digital technologies, enhance productivity, and engage better with its members and customers.
