Apple unveils iPhone SE and Mac Studio desktop

Apple Inc Tuesday launched new products including low-cost iPhone SE, Mac Studio desktop with a faster chip, and iPad Air. The new iPhone SE will have a faster chip and 5G capabilities. Still, have a fingerprint sensor and home button.

Though apple’s office is opening slowly, however, the announcement was prerecorded and online streamed. Apple is following this format for now. Analyst Neil Shah of Counterpoint Research said, ‘’ Apple Silicon strategy is the key highlight. Apple is scaling the portfolio of its in-house semiconductor capabilities to power a broader set of richer devices from affordable iPhone SE to the most powerful product Mac studio.’’

Low-Cost iPhone SE

The iPhone SE comes with a 4.7-inch retina display, home button with Touch ID and an A15 Bionic chip which is the fastest among competitions. Chief Executive Tim Cook said, ‘’ this is important for our existing users who want a smaller iPhone at a great value.’’

Meanwhile, Nabila Popal, an analyst at IDC said, ‘’ A cheaper iPhone with 5G is good news for Apple, especially in these times of uncertainty. ‘’ However, Popal believes a small screen could negatively impact iPhone SE Sales, as consumers might opt for older iPhone models with the bigger screen at the same price.
